Everything in one package. I bought the kit to add to my food supply. The drill bit was faster then putting duck tape on my drill bit. It went in just far enought. I have five logs under trees waiting to pin.

I got the 12 mm-sized bit, which is excellent for using grain/sawdust spawn for logs and totems. The guard on the bit prevents you from drilling too deeply into the log, leaving consistent results for sowing the mycelium. This tool works great with the angle-grinder adapter and the sawdust loading tool. A must-have for anyone to make your log projects even easier to set up!

Save yourself a lot of time and buy the log inoculation drill bit from Northern Spore. Cuts through Oak logs like butter and really is a time saver.
Worked great to drill holes in alder and maple to inoculate logs with plug spawn.
Shipping took a while which I understand other than that they reach out to me and provided excellent customer support always love north spore

I wish I had discovered this 4 years ago when I started drilling logs. It was a total game changer. It stops at the perfect depth every time AND it empties the hole of the sawdust. The plugs fit perfectly.
I have other bits and bit stops for plug insertion, but this one (even after 2100 plugs) clears the holes perfect with no efforts!
This drill bit is ready for a full day of innoculating. It’s super sharp and works really well.
The bits performance was good Stade sharp over 2000 holes. The only change I would make is to make the collar deeper and wider for logs with bigger bark.
My Mushroom Log Inoculation Bit entered the wood with ease. All I had to do is place the tip on the wood and push. The twirling action of the Mushroom Log Inoculation Bit helped it penetrate the wood hard and fast. I knew I hit the perfect depth and penetrated the log again and again.
After pulling out my Mushroom Log Inoculation Bit from the final hole, it was time for North Spore’s hardwood mycelium covered dowels to fill the log’s empty holes.
To my surprise, I could barely squeeze the dowel in because the Mushroom Log Inoculation Bit’s holes are not that big. I got my hammer because I knew if I was going to finish the job, more force was required.
Again and again I hammered the dowels in. Every dowel was covered with white mycelium and once the mycelium gets into the log, it makes a mushroom.
That’s how my Mushroom Log Inoculation Drill received a Five Star Rating!
