The maximum shelf weight is 20 lbs. Exceeding this limit can damage the BoomRoom II and create a safety hazard.

Your BoomRoom II can hold up to twenty 5 lb. fruiting blocks.

Absolutely — just don't exceed the maximum shelf weight limit of 20 lbs. per shelf.

Once you've cleared a space, unpacking takes about 20 minutes and setup takes around 30 minutes. We recommend reading the BoomRoom II Set Up & Grow Guide before you begin to streamline the process.

No. Mushrooms prefer cooler temperatures with high humidity, so we did not include a heating apparatus. Place your BoomRoom II away from direct sunlight in an area that stays between 60–80°F. Below that range and mushrooms will stop growing; above it and they'll dry out.

You can grow a wide variety of edible and medicinal mushrooms, including Lion's Mane, Oyster, Shiitake, Chestnut, Pioppino, Nameko, and more. Most are grown in bags, but many can also be grown in trays. Note that each species has different growing requirements and cannot all be grown together — shiitake, for example, prefer cooler temperatures and higher humidity.

Psilocybe species such as P. Cubensis can also be grown using trays. However, hallucinogenic mushroom spores are illegal in a number of U.S. states. Be aware of the laws in your place of residence. North Spore does not condone hallucinogenic mushroom growing where it is currently illegal. North Spore's products shall be used only for lawful purposes.

Yes. Mushrooms don't photosynthesize like plants, but they still require light to form fruiting bodies. Indirect sunlight from a window is usually sufficient indoors. In a dark or windowless space — like a garage, basement, or closet — supplement with a compact fluorescent or LED strip in the blue spectrum (above 5000K).

All components will collect spores during the growing process. Clean between each fruiting cycle, or more frequently if there is significant buildup.

• Filter: Gently rub under flowing lukewarm water until the water runs clear. After several washes the filter will degrade — replace it when that happens.
• Ducting: Damp cloth and mild cleanser. No bleach or abrasives.
• Shelves & metal frame: Damp cloth and mild cleanser. No bleach or abrasives.
• Clear vinyl tent: Damp cloth and mild cleanser. No bleach or abrasives. Can also be sanitized by spraying inside and out with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
• Spore floor: Damp cloth and mild cleanser. No bleach or abrasives.
• Electronic components (FAE fan, humidifier, humidity sensor): Consult the included manufacturer manuals.

Caution: Always allow ample time for all components to dry before plugging them back in.

Always use distilled water in your humidifier to prevent mineral buildup.

For existing buildup on ducting, shelves, or the clear vinyl tent: mix equal parts vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle, apply to affected areas, and let sit for 10–20 minutes. Wipe off with a wet cloth. Do not leave it on — it will slowly eat away the rust-resistant coating.

For electronic components, consult the included manufacturer manuals.

Caution: Always allow ample time for components to dry before plugging them back in.

There are three methods: the sun method, the iron method, and the hair dryer method. Read all warnings before proceeding:

• Never attempt to remove wrinkles while the tent is still on the BoomRoom II.
• Protect your hands with light-colored socks or winter gloves. Do not use bright or dark colors — they may transfer onto the vinyl.
• If using the iron or hair dryer, be extra patient and proceed slowly. Too much heat can tear, melt, or warp the tent and cause burns.
• Keep children and pets away while working with heat.
• Warming vinyl can smell unpleasant. Work in a well-ventilated area and consider wearing a face covering.

Sun method: On a warm sunny day, lay light-colored blankets or towels on a flat outdoor surface. Lay the tent flat on top and let the sun warm it. Check every 30 minutes until the vinyl feels warm and pliable, then smooth out wrinkles by section with your hand.

Caution: Only use the sun method if you can check on the tent every 30 minutes. Leaving it in the hot sun all day can cause warping or melting.

Iron method: Place the tent on an ironing board and lay a white or light-colored towel over it. Set the iron to low heat and slowly run it over the towel, periodically lifting to check progress. Work in sections. Watch a recommended video here.

Caution: Never use HIGH heat or the steam setting. Either can melt the vinyl. Proceed slowly and watch the vinyl closely.

Hair dryer method: Lay light-colored blankets or towels on a flat surface and lay the tent on top. With the hair dryer on low, held at least 6 inches away, blow warm air over the vinyl. Once warm and pliable, smooth out wrinkles by section with your hand.

Caution: Never use HIGH heat or hold the dryer too close. Either can melt the vinyl. Proceed slowly and watch the vinyl closely.
