Commercial | Organic Reishi Grain Spawn

Grain Spawn (Ganoderma lucidum only)- Indoor only! The indoor method of growing Reishi takes basic laboratory/clean space infrastructure, though they are a great mushroom for indoor commercial cultivation for beginner growers. They do not require humidified fruiting rooms as they can grow entirely inside their bag.
Inoculation:
Indoor Commercial Production - Use Grain spawn for indoor cultivation. Reishi mushroom grain spawn can be mixed into sterilized hardwood sawdust to create Reishi substrate blocks. This process requires a fair amount of infrastructure. We recommend purchasing a book on mushroom cultivation if you are interested in pursuing this style of mushroom production as a hobby or profession. We recommend 'Radical Mycology: A Treatise on Seeing and Working with Fungi' by Peter McCoy, 'Organic Mushroom Farming and Mycoremediation' by Tradd Cotter, or 'Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms' by Paul Stamets.
Difficulty: Beginner
Cooking: Not for culinary use but recommended for teas and tinctures. To make a tea, break Reishi into pieces and simmer in water for two hours.
Properties: Known commonly as the 'Mushroom of Immortality' in Chinese, Reishi is a highly esteemed medicinal mushroom thought to promote longevity and overall health. Studied most for its ability to boost the immune system, Reishi extracts stimulate T-cell action, Natural Killer cell activity, and Dendritic cell maturation (Gao, 2004). Other pharmacological effects of Reishi extract include the following: anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, reduces blood pressure, lowers cholesterol levels, promotes anti-tumor activity, and acts as a central depressant to relax muscles (Hobbs, 1995; Gao et al., 20014).
