Mushrooms emerging from a 3D-printed bear? We're in!
Video game developer Obsidian Entertainment’s highly anticipated role playing game Avowed back to the world of Eora first explored in Pillars of Eternity. This time, a dark mystery unfolds in the Living Lands. In the game, players take on the role of an envoy investigating the eerie "Dreamscourge," a plague that seems to infect both creatures and the land itself. One of the most striking examples of this is the terrifying plague-ridden bear, whose body is overtaken by a strange fungal infection.
To celebrate Avowed’s release, Obsidian Entertainment has partnered with North Spore to bring the game’s fungal theme into the real world. Together, we are launching a limited-edition Avowed Spray & Grow Kit sleeve, featuring Blue Oyster, Pink Oyster, or Golden Oyster mushrooms. The twist? Players won’t know which variety they’ll get until their first flush!
Adding to the excitement, Obsidian Entertainment sent us a chihuahua-sized, 3D-printed bear that we filled with mushroom spawn to get our fans in the mood for gameplay. Feeling the fomo? You can download the file to 3D print your own bear.
This collaboration lets fans do their own Dreamscourge research—just like in Avowed, where players explore an island full of ancient magic and mysterious fungi. But don’t worry, this version is much safer! Instead of facing danger, you’ll get to grow tasty, colorful mushrooms right in your own kitchen.
For RPG fans and mushroom lovers alike, this is a unique way to immerse yourselves in the world of Avowed before stepping into the Living Lands on launch day. Will you embrace the fungal mystery?
