Log Inoculation Sealing Wax
A clear food-grade paraffin wax ideal for sealing holes in inoculated logs. One pound of wax is enough to seal about 10 logs with some variability depending on the size of the logs and whether you choose to seal the ends.
We recommend using an old crock pot (try looking for one at a thrift store) and allocating it for melting wax.
Sealing the holes is critical to success because it protects the spawn from drying out and from contamination.
Please note that large bags of wax are not eligible for free shipping.

I was trying to find log plug sealing wax on amazon, and kind of gave up, bc the descriptions i found were vague, and it wasn't clear to me if the wax was food grade, and if it was solid blocks or pelleted wax. So i decided to buy from North Spore, and I'm so happy w my purchase!! Its high quality, melts like a dream, and is easy to work with! This company's customer service is top notch! Will definitely continue to purchase from this company!!!
We just did our first round of mushroom logs, and we used this wax for sealing. It worked great! We put the wax in a crockpot for a bit, and it melted easily for covering our inoculation sites. We even had enough wax to seal all the ends of our logs and the branch sites. (We got 2lbs and did about 20 logs.) The wax spread easily and melted well and looks to have made a great seal. I'm very pleased with the product! I will buy it again when we need more.
I ordered the wax and the sponge dabbers, the wax melts so fast, iIwas shocked to see it go so fast, if you get the old school canning wax in the blocks you will be amazed when you switch to this. i got a small crock pot to hold it and assumed it would take 20 min or so, but within minutes it was melted. The dabbers a great too, they give just the right amount of coverage and dont waste any wax
