Local Pickup:
If you live in Maine, you have the option of picking up your order from our production facility located at 921 Riverside St, Portland, Maine.
To use this option, enter the code "LOCALPICKUP23" at checkout and we'll waive shipping fees.
Local pickup orders are NOT same day. You will receive an email when your items are ready for pickup.
Local pickup hours are Monday-Thursday, from 9am to 5pm.
If you already applied another discount, email us at orders@northspore.com with your order number and we can refund your shipping after the order is placed.

Free shipping:
Free shipping is available on orders over $150 USD for packages shipped to the contiguous 48 U.S. states. (It does not include Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. territories).
Your total after discounts must be over the $150 USD threshold to receive free shipping.
Unfortunately, free shipping does not apply to P.O. Box shipments.
Some items do not qualify for free shipping, including large bags (over 20 pounds) of millet, sawdust pellets, soyhull pellets, and coco coir.

Insulated shipping:
North Spore offers eco-friendly insulated shipping. Our insulated shippers fit up to 4 bags of spawn each, and we charge a flat rate of $30 for the first shipper and $15 for each additional shipper. Our fees cover the cost of the insulation, ice packs, and any extra shipping costs that result from the added weight of the ice packs.
We recommend using insulated shippers as long as daytime temperatures in your area are above 80 degrees or below 50 degrees. We guarantee that spawn shipped using our insulated shippers will arrive healthy and viable.
Since spawn can still become jostled in shipping, we recommend letting the bags sit at room temperature for 48 hours after receiving before refrigerating again.

Domestic shipping:
Once your order has been processed, you will receive an email when your items ship.
If a non pre-order item is going to be out of stock for more than 2 weeks, we will cancel that item, issue a refund, and remove it from your order.
We ALWAYS split shipments that include BoomRoom kits and/or Monotub kits. This means they will ship separately from the rest of your order.

International shipping:
Given restrictions on shipping and importing mycelium products, we do not currently ship to countries outside of the U.S. and Canada.
Your order will ship once all items are ready (including pre-order items).
Due to import restrictions, we are currently unable to ship substrates, tinctures, tea, capsules, and dried mushrooms to Canada. Please be aware that we also charge an International Handling Fee to cover any applicable brokerage fees and duties.

How quickly will my order be processed and packed?

Does North Spore ship on weekends?
No, our packing and shipping teams work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm ET.
Which shipping carriers does North Spore use?
We ship our products through USPS and FedEx. You can see shipping prices and select your preferred carrier at checkout.
How frequently do carriers pick up orders from North Spore?
Carriers pick up packages every day, Monday through Friday. USPS picks up around noon and FedEx picks up around 3 pm.
How can I ensure my spawn won't get stuck in the mail over the weekend?
Our best recommendation is to choose a shipping method that delivers your package before the weekend. If you want to be sure, leave a note on your order that says "please only ship on a Monday."
What does North Spore use for insulated shipping?
Each box liner features plant-based Climacell insulation which is 100% curbside recyclable. (This means it can go right your recycling bin, alongside the cardboard box it came in.)
Does North Spore have a retail storefront, or just local pickup?
At this time, we do not have a retail store at our production facility. We do offer local pickup for orders placed online. (Note that local pickup is NOT same day.)
How does the BoomRoom kit ship?
Your BoomRoom complete kit will arrive in 2 separate shipments -- tent and rack in one box, and fan, humifier, ducting, filters, and spore floor in another box. If you ordered any other items (like fruiting blocks), they will arrive separately from your BoomRoom kit shipments.
What does it mean if an item is on pre-order?
If a product is on pre-order, it is available to purchased. However, there will be a longer lead time before it ships. Estimated shipping times for pre-order items are noted on the product pages, below the add to cart button.
