Large Shipments
BoomRoom II & Monotubs:
- If your shipment includes a BoomRoom II or Monotub, the order will be shipped in separate boxes.
- Please note: Boxes may not arrive together, as some carriers often split up boxes at their processing centers.
XL and bulk items:
- If your shipment includes an XL item (e.g. 8-pack of substrate, 40 lb. bag of coco coir), the order will be shipped in separate boxes.

Local Pickup:
To waive shipping fees:
- Use code "LOCALPICKUP24" at checkout to waive shipping fees.

To pick up your order:
- You will receive an email when your items are ready for pickup. (Local pickup orders are NOT same day.)

Local pickup hours are Monday-Thursday, from 9am to 5pm. Pickup table is located inside front entrance.
Free shipping:
Free shipping is available for:
- Orders shipped within the contiguous 48 U.S. states.
- Orders over $150.00 USD, after all discounts and promo codes.
Unfortunately, it is not available for:
- P.O. boxes or shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, and the U.S. territories.
- XL bags (over 20 pounds) of millet, sawdust pellets, soyhull pellets, and coco coir.
Insulated shipping:
How it works & what it costs:
- Our insulated shippers fit up to 4 bags of spawn or fruiting blocks each.
- Insulated shipping will appear as an option at checkout for living mycelium products.
- Fees cover the cost of the insulation, ice packs, and any extra shipping costs that from the added weight of the ice packs.
When it's recommended:
- We recommend insulated shipping when daytime temperatures in your area are above 80° F or below 50° F degrees.
- Please note: Once shipment arrives, we recommend letting spawn, blocks, and kits sit at room temperature for 48 hours before using them or placing into a refrigerator.
Canada & Hawaii:
Shipments to Canada:
- Due to import restrictions, we are currently unable to ship substrates, spray and grow kits, tinctures, tea, capsules, and dried mushrooms to Canada.
- An International Handling Fee may be charged to cover any applicable brokerage fees and duties.
Shipments to Hawaii:
- Due to import restrictions, we are unable to send any living mycelium products to Hawaii.
- Please note that free shipping is not available to orders going to Hawaii, Alaska, or the U.S. territories.
Frequently asked questions:
How quickly will my order be processed and packed?
Most orders are fulfilled the same day unless otherwise noted on the product page (including pre-order items and select cultures). You will receive an email confirmation with tracking information when your order has been packed.
Please note that the tracking number included in your confirmation email will update once the carrier picks up your package. This may take a couple of days, so we appreciate your patience as your order is processed.
Does North Spore ship on weekends?
Yes, our team packs items 7 days a week!
However, please note that our carriers only pick up packages on the weekdays. This means that while we prepare your items on the weekend, they will be shipped out on the next scheduled pickup day.
Which shipping carriers does North Spore use?
We ship our products through USPS and FedEx. You can see shipping prices and select your preferred carrier at checkout.
How frequently do carriers pick up orders from North Spore?
Carriers pick up packages every day, Monday through Friday. USPS picks up around noon and FedEx picks up around 3 pm.
How can I ensure my spawn won't get stuck in the mail over the weekend?
Our best recommendation is to choose a shipping method that delivers your package before the weekend. If you want to be sure, leave a note on your order that says "please only ship on a Monday."
What does North Spore use for insulated shipping?
Each box liner features plant-based Climacell insulation which is 100% curbside recyclable. (This means it can go right your recycling bin, alongside the cardboard box it came in.)
Does North Spore have a retail storefront, or just local pickup?
At this time, we do not have a retail store at our production facility. We do offer local pickup for orders placed online. (Note that local pickup is NOT same day.)
How does the BoomRoom kit ship?
Your BoomRoom complete kit will arrive in 2 separate shipments -- tent and rack in one box, and fan, humifier, ducting, filters, and spore floor in another box. If you ordered any other items (like fruiting blocks), they will arrive separately from your BoomRoom kit shipments.
What does it mean if an item is on pre-order?
If a product is on pre-order, it is available to purchased. However, there will be a longer lead time before it ships. Estimated shipping times for pre-order items are noted on the product pages, below the add to cart button.
