Log Inoculation Drill Bits

This tool is used to drill into logs that can then be inoculated with mushroom spawn. The drill bit makes sure each hole is an identical size and depth.
Make sure you have the proper sized drill bit for your mushroom log project.
8.5mm drill bits fit our plug spawn.
12mm drill bits fit our inoculation tool used with sawdust spawn.
Make sure to check out the angle grinder adapter if you want to vastly speed up your mushroom log project!

The right hand tool job
No more square holes for this guy, I'm going round from now on. I went online this morning not even knowing it was possible to make round holes in things. It's amazing how far we've come. Now I just need to figure out how to make holes in a up/down direction and not the other way.. oh wait they even sell an angle attachment. Neato!

perfect tool for the job
These are just the tool for log inoculation work! While I suppose you *can* just use the appropriately sized drill bit instead, this takes most of the elbow grease out of it, and keeps your holes at the perfect depth, which is essential for a good clean seal. The angle grinder adapter is also a life saver, so get that one too! Just make sure you double check the size you're ordering. I used both plug and sawdust spawn so I ended up getting both sizes. I get a ton of use out of both. I will definitely order these again once I wear them out!
perfect tool for the job
accept no imitations! this is the perfect tool for inoculation work. i've used both sizes and they work great! especially nice with the angle grinder adapter, but an impact driver does the trick too with only this piece.
Drill bit
This is the perfect tool to make plugging logs an easy task! I was able to plug hundreds by myself in an hour or so!

Major Time Saver
This does exactly what it is supposed to at super fast speed. The bit almost pulls itself into the logs making it almost effortless and takes absolutely all guess work out of depth and size for the plugs. Plus the wife doesn't have to go behind me cleaning the sawdust out. If you plan on doing logs it's a must have.
