What do we mean by CSA?

Having a mushroom fruiting block kit subscription means taking food production into your own hands to grow healthy low-impact protein year-round.

We 100% guarantee your first flush of mushrooms, but hope you'll try for 2 or more! With continued proper care (humidity and air flow), you may be able to get subsequent flushes from your mushroom growing kits. And once your fruiting block stops growing indoors, you can give it a second life outdoors in your garden!
Blocks F.A.Q.
How many mushrooms do fruiting blocks produce?
The average fruiting block will produce between 1-2 lbs per flush (less in subsequent fruitings). And, depending on the species, you can expect 1-3 fruiting cycles per block. Note that some of the more advanced species are harder to get subesquent fruitings.
Are fruiting blocks the same as mushroom grow kits?
Yes! Fruiting blocks are mushroom grow kits. But, unlike our boxed countertop Spray & Grow kits, these are larger and grow in bags. Our fruiting block kits are made from vigorous edible mushroom mycelium grown on a proprietary blend of hydrated and sterilized hardwood sawdust with other organic amendments that mushrooms love.
Why can't I select my own kits?
We want every grow to be a success! The team at North Spore will select kits with the highest chance of optimal growth based on the time of year, so you’ll be sure to have an abundance of fresh edible mushrooms for your next meal. Plus, our ability to focus on making select species each month means we can pass along the savings to you.

Can I purchase more than one subscription?
Absolutely! Just select the number of boxes you want when you add the subscription to your cart.
Can I pause or cancel my subscription easily?
Yes! Just let us know at least seven (7) days before you’re next subscription is scheduled to be billed. Otherwise, your request will apply to the following shipment.
