In-person classes

This walk is designed to be an introduction to the mycological world of Maine, with a particular focus on edible mushrooms.

The first half hour or so of class will be devoted to covering basic fungal biology and life cycle, mushroom myths/truths, and foraging practices. From there, we’ll head into the forest and scan for mushrooms, discussing our finds as we go. The species we are likely to find vary depending on season and location. By the end of class, participants will walk away with growing confidence in several choice species and inspiration to learn more.
