Looking for a reliable way to grow fruiting blocks?
If you don't have the space for a martha tent, our Automated Boomr Bin Monotub System creates the ideal environment for growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms by maintaining humidity and air exchange while preventing the spread of spores.
This kit is equipped with everything you need to get started! In addition to a monotub, automated tech kit, and two fruiting blocks, we've included self-adhesive filters that fit over holes on the monotub lid to keep out foreign spores and other contaminants while maintaining proper humidity, airflow, and gas exchange.
Each kit includes:
Our beginner-friendly Automated Boomr Bin Mushroom Monotub makes mushroom growing easy. Created by mycologists, its patent-pending design is optimized for all growers. It features a recessed base for stacking multiple monotubs and extra large latches with recessed grips for easy lifting and transport. Plus, it's also made with food-grade materials that are FDA-approved for contact with consumables.
Fruiting block kits:
Our mushroom fruiting block kits are fully colonized and ready to grow. Each block measures ~9x6x6 inches and weighs ~5lbs.
Shiitake block (Lentinula edodes):
Our shiitake fruiting block features a popular strain that produces light brown, medium-to-large, umbrella-shaped caps. Shiitake mushrooms are a delicious edible fungus from East Asia and their flavor is described as rich, savory, buttery, and umami. This strain tends to produce generous flushes, making them a great mushroom for confident beginners and intermediate growers.
Blue Oyster block (Pleurotus ostreatus):
Our blue oyster block is a fast substrate colonizer with a strong bluish-gray hue. It produces richly umami mushrooms with a soft, meaty texture that pairs well with most dishes. Oysters are very reliable producers and tend to yield large flushes of mushrooms. They are also one of the easiest blocks to get subsequent fruitings from and should reliably produce a second flush or more.
Important notice:
ā ļø Using tap water with a high mineral content (aka "hard water") with any humidifier can cause a fine white dust build to up and/or to be emitted. To avoid this, use distilled or demineralized water. Or, add a demineralization cartridge to the water tank. (This can be done by removing the top cover and placing the cartridge inside.)
