Well I haven’t used them yet, it’s winter and the information I have read said to put the plugs in a log in the spring.

My son and I have loved trying new mushrooms. We started with the kits on the counter and graduated to plugs. Just got our wood and should be ready to grow these as soon as it warms up! So exciting.

Glad we could wait till the spring to get these plugs since it was a Christmas gift and we wanted to wait till it warmed up to drop em in. Now they are in our log and we are ready to watch that mycelium take over. Thanks North Spore!

We got the shiitake DIY plugs kit and things have gone well so far. These were given as a gift at Christmas and the spore voucher was redeemed a few weeks ago. The plugs came promptly and we put them in some freshly-cut maple logs. Now it may be another 12 months til we see mushrooms, but that's something to look forward to!
