Our spring-loaded thumb press log inoculation tool is ideal for injecting sawdust spawn into holes drilled on logs. The ribbed anti-slip handle decreases friction that causes blistering, and the single-hand use design allows the other hand to steady the log during inoculation. With regular cleaning and proper storage, it should last for many years. (Scroll down for care instructions.)

Caring for your inoculation tool:
Sawdust spawn residue can build up in your tool, making it feel sticky or causing the plunger to freeze. If this happens, soak in hot soapy water for 30 minutes, then push down on the head of the tool to loosen any debris.
Periodically check the head of the tool to make sure it is not coming unscrewed. The tool can be tightened by using a large flat head screwdriver. Insert the screwdriver into the groove on the tip, hold onto the head and lightly twist the screwdriver until tight.

A must have!
I couldn’t imagine trying to inoculate logs without this tool. So far went through 3 bags of sawdust spawn with zero issues! No sticking or clogging.

If you want grow mushrooms on log you must have one this. It makes your life much easier. But if your thumb is not strong enough like mine you better use your palm push down. It’s high quality very well made tool. You can use it for many years. It’s worth your money to invest this tool.
